Process

The initial meeting is essential for both parties. During this time, we will have the opportunity to discuss your needs, expectations, and desired outcomes. You are encouraged to ask any questions related to the therapy process, my experience, qualifications, or any other inquiries that will help you feel informed and at ease. We will also outline the structure of the therapy sessions, including their frequency and duration, tailored to best suit your needs. Subsequent meetings will delve deeper into the topics that matter to you. You will have the opportunity to work on them in a safe and secure space, where I will encourage you to express yourself freely, connect with your needs, and be supported, accepted, and reflected by your therapist. It's important to note that therapy might conclude for various reasons. When there is no longer a specific need, symptom relief, coping with specific problems, improving emotional well-being, or resolving life difficulties. For the final sessions, we can discuss a plan for exiting therapy for a smoother and adaptive closure. In some cases, follow-up sessions or options for maintenance therapy may be suggested if needed.

Why Gestalt psychotherapy

Gestalt psychotherapy is a powerful approach within humanistic psychology. It highlights the positive aspects of human nature and emphasizes the potential for self-discovery, self-realization and growth. It combines different psychological and philosophical traditions to create a unique method that focuses on our experiences in the present, taking personal responsibility, and the interconnectedness of mind and body. The connection between the client and the therapist is crucial in this therapy. The therapist approaches the client openly and honestly, with empathy and understanding, creating a safe space where the client can freely express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. This contact often reflects the ways in which the client interacts with other people in their life. This provides an opportunity to explore and understand patterns of behaviour, explore new way of interaction and communication that can be transferred and used outside the therapeutic setting. This compassionate interaction supports the client in their journey of self-exploration and self-acceptance, helping more authentic connections with others and empowering individuals to make conscious, informed choices in their lives.
